Educational Psychologist

Alice Crawford

Alice, as Educational Psychologist, sits within the LST School Improvement Team. She supports all our Academies to help children and young people tackle challenges such as learning difficulties, social and emotional problems, issues around disability as well as complex developmental disorders. This may be working directly with a child or young person, a group (assessing or working therapeutically or delivering interventions, for example) or indirectly through parents, teachers and other professionals.

Alice began her career in education as a primary teacher in London, then worked in New Zealand and Leicestershire before retraining as an Educational Psychologist. She has worked as an EP in Northumberland in the EP Service and Local Inclusion Support Team, and Newcastle and Bradford EP Services. She has worked as a guest lecturer at Newcastle University on the Doctoral Programme for Educational Psychology. She then moved to RGS as the Director of Progress, Learning and Support, bringing together the academic and pastoral areas of the school, while developing teams and delivering local and national training on a range of topics related to inclusion and improving educational experiences for children and young people. She completed a Masters in International Development and Education where she developed a therapeutic programme for parents to support their children with climate anxiety.

She volunteers as the Education and Curriculum Specialist for Afrikindness, a charity aiming to provide essential tools and resources for schools, parents and children to instil kindness and contribute to a compassionate and connected world.
