Teaching & Leadership Centre

With the generous support of our sponsor, the Laidlaw Foundation, we recently opened the Laidlaw Teaching and Leadership Centre at Sedgefield Community College, an Outstanding teaching school within the Trust.

This £3.2 million two-storey building, designed by ADP Architecture, serves as a learning hub for PGCE teacher trainees, and provides additional classroom space for Sedgefield pupils.

Colleagues within the Trust will also have access to training and development at the Centre, receiving the opportunity to exchange best practice and share their expertise with the trainees.

Creating a bespoke centre for PGCE students and other trainee teachers, where they can learn and develop, ensures a pipeline of talented newly-qualified teachers for the Trust. By investing in the ongoing career development of teachers and leaders within the Trust, we can be confident that our teaching and learning is always of the highest standard and that our staff feel inspired, motivated and valued.
