Sedgefield Community College Achieves Best-Ever GCSE Results Despite Pandemic Disruption
BackStudents, families, and staff at Sedgefield Community College celebrate its best-ever set of GCSE results with 80.5% of students achieving 5 standard passes including English and Maths - a 4.3% improvement from 2019. As well as this, 63.2% of students achieved 5 strong passes including English and Maths - a huge improvement of more than 10% from 2019.
Despite two years of pandemic challenges, Sedgefield students performed exceptionally well. David Gulliver’s achievement of Grade 9’s across all subjects is truly outstanding. Other students who were awarded top grades across multiple subjects include Joe Whitehill, Chloe Larke, Chloe Langley, and many more.
Paul Fleming, Headteacher, commented: “After all of the challenges that our Year 11 students have faced, we’re delighted that they have achieved such impressive results. They have shown terrific resilience and they deserve all of their success. Of course, these tremendous exam results have only been possible due to the commitment and expertise of our fantastic staff and the unwavering support of parents and carers.
