Bethan Dawson

As the Data Protection Officer for the Trust, Bethan ensures that data protection measures are effectively implemented, safeguarding the privacy rights and freedoms of individuals. She is responsible for ensuring that the Trust remains compliant with UK data protection laws.

Bethan began her career in a national further education group, where she held a role in legal governance and risk management before advancing to the position of Data Protection and Compliance Officer. She joined LST in 2024, eager to expand her expertise within the education sector and take a leadership role in data protection at LST.

Bethan holds a degree in History and Politics from Northumbria University, with a focus on American History and Counterterrorism. She has also achieved certification as an EU GDPR Practitioner.

Outside of work, Bethan enjoys the arts, good coffee, and travelling to the United States—especially to New York City.
